The Lecture

I just gave my daughter a lecture I have been needing for quite sometime. Yes, you read that right. She is often so full of jealosy and comparisons of self versus others that her own talents and virtues go unnoticed. Methinks the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

The forced "in your face" contact of children and spouses force us to deal with so many of our own issues that might go undetected otherwise.

My child is very good at making me aware of my stubborness, my smart mouth and my reluctance to admit when I'm wrong. It's like holding up a mirror some days. Blech!

No kidding! The most gutwrenching of my experiences in life involve my children and what they're dealing with. The worst is when you don't know what to do to help them deal with the same types of problems that I dealth with as a youth.
