A great debate. People I know and love are all over my facebook account. People I really know, as in, I could drive to their houses and visit. Family members who would never blog are on facebook. Church friends are there. Even a few bloggers I have met whose full names I actually know. My kids are on there. It is all the rage. Which twilight character are you? Who should you watch a movie with and who should you never watch a movie with. Some people I know are positively hooked on farmtown and thankfully are earning money keeping up with my farm since virtual farming does not appeal to me(But real earth turning...ahhh, be still my heart.). I can see pics of my friends with their families. I can get a glimpse into the lives of people I know and love-a very tiny glimpse. A glimpse I have to search for through many many friends. I have alot of friends. Mostly, this is because I am old. I have many facets of my life. There are friends from high school, friends who have moved away, relatives, friends of a friend, out-of-town family, etc.
OR, I can read blogs. Blogs which are so emotional and intense that sometimes my eyes water. Blogs that make me think. Blogs that help me understand people who are not like me and people who are. Blogs that are spiritually uplifting and encouraging. Blogs that are so funny I almost pee. Blogs that can tell me when a real life friend needs a card or a 'care package'. I can make a snarky comment or give a cyber (((hug))).
So really, for me, it is a no-brainer. I love blogs. They fulfill my need to read and write. They give me that raw honest footage that I crave. So when I have to pick and choose because our summer is crazy busy...you are far more likely to find me here venting, disclosing too much information, begging for affirmation or telling something funny or mundane than you are to see me super-poking. (It sounds like so much more than what it is!! heehee)

I enjoy both Facebook and Blogging but I have to really be in a mood before I can post on my blog. On FB I can just spit out a status line and I'm good,and usually get instant feedback! LOVE IT!

Me, too! I enjoy hijacking Philip's Facebook, but I'd rather be on Blogger, too. Since I can't (won't) keep up with two cyber places, I'm sticking with Blogger 'cause, though there's fewer friends to keep up with, it seems a deeper cyber-friendship....I'd rather have a few posts of some depth than a whole handful of status updates. That's just me, though!

I am doing both right now, but if and when a job comes my way I have a feeling something will have to give. We'll see when it gets here.

Me too! If I spend more than five minutes on Facebook I start to feel like I'm wasting my time and that it zaps my blogging mojo and creativity. I never feel like reading blogs or writing posts is a waste of my time, as it fills me. Facebook does not do that.
Blogs are too personal for me to "have" you know this already, lol
Facebook is kinda a quick fix and instant fun
I don't think the world could handle a Heather Farris blog...me..telling what I REALLY think...feel....etc..all the time.?

I like Facebook for the peeks into people's lives and for finding old friends but blogging is where my "heart" is. I always want to know more than those little one liner status updates give. I say give me a blog post any day! And--on another note, I am always surprised at how many people don't read my blog after I've given them the address. I know it's not super interesting but if anyone I know or knew has a blog I'm all over it! Even some members of my family don't regularly read which always surprises me but I guess it's not for everyone. I'm the type of person that wants to look at the photo albums of complete strangers and truly is interested in what you had for dinner last night, but doesn't know what's happening in the world. People person through and through.
