Nervous!

Today is my husband's 25th class reunion. The picnic is at lunch and then the dinner tonight. To say I am nervous is the understatement of the year. Most of the girls he went to school with that I know still look exactly the same-maybe a little better. Most of the guys he went to school with that I know are not exactly fun to be around. I do have some really good friends in this group and also some family-so it isn't as though I will be without people to talk to-a support network. ( ; However, I am nervous. To further complicate things, Erik will only be making an appearance at the picnic so I will be there alone and feeling like a fish out of water.

I wasn't nervous in the least for my own high school reunion. I don't want to be nervous over this one, but they just give me a colossal case of the "I'm not good enough's". Which is ridiculous but the facts-just the facts.

This also gives me pause to wonder if my chilren will feel badly that they do not have a class reunion. Will they feel like they missed out on something? Oh well, we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

How about you, how do you feel about class reunions? Do you go? Do you think they are stupid? Do they make you nervous? What about your spouse's reunion-is that different?

Inquiring (nervous) minds want to know!!

I don't go to reunions. I didn't like those people when I was incarcerated with them and I won't like them now, either.

As far as I'm concerned, everyone but the two or three I'm still in contact with can drop off the face of the earth.

I don't care how they're doing, who they married, how many kids they have, who went bald, who got fat...

You did ask, you know.

As outgoing and vivacious as you are you will be fine!! I give that part of my life this much thought.....O
I haven't been to any of my reunions and probably won't go. I didn't have enjoyable high school years and don't wish to relive them any time soon : ( I wouldn't stress out too much about the kids missing those things. They will be too busy having wonderful full lives to think about it.....as Ami said "you did ask you know" LOL

John refuses to go to any of his class reunions- he says they're mainly excuses for people to show off or get drunk, and he has little in common with most of his classmates. I graduated from school in a very transient area, and few of my classmates live in that area any more, so I didn't even consider making the trip to Virginia. Besides, there were only a handful of people I'd actually like to see anyway. I don't think our kids are missing anything. Like prom, class reunions are pretty overrated.

I would like to go to my reunion, although the distance may very well prevent it. Philip, however, has no reunions and it does not phase him in the least. He certainly doesn't feel like he's missing out.

We don't go to Hubby's because he has no desire to see most of his classmates. We went to my 25th last year. I had a good time but was annoyed at the number of people who are still playing high school...still trying to "be somebody". I will continue to see the close friends I really care about, corresponde with the folks far from home that I like and have no regrets if I don't see some of those other folks ever again. I'm too old to play games. Who do they think they're fooling anyway? We all have to drop our drawers to poop.

I can NOT wait for mine this fall. We have friends scattered all over the place (as far away as Prague) and it will be wonderful to be able to see them all again, even if it is just for the weekend. We keep in contact as much as we can, usually a Christmas card, phone call once or twice a year, and email here and there, but with lives as crazy as they are it's hard. I love this excuse to see those people I miss. A lot of them, I could give a hoot about, but those that I were close to, CAN'T wait!!!! Even the ones who stayed local I don't get a chance to visit because when we are in town it's all family stuff that usually takes priority.

Anyway, I'm glad it turned out ok for you!!!
